Corporate Overview

IGOR was established in Australia in 2006 to work at the intersection of human capability, organisations and complex systems.

From its earliest work in demanding institutional and operational environments, IGOR has examined how people, technology, organisational structure, culture and decision-making interact under real-world conditions. We are known for working where conventional or isolated approaches reach their limits.

Our work draws on a multidisciplinary foundation spanning human factors, organisational and cognitive science, operations research, psychology, management science, sociology, anthropology and computer science. We combine these disciplines as an integrated systems practice, selecting the level of analysis and intervention required by the problem rather than imposing a single method.

IGOR works across the full human-systems landscape: from individual human performance, ergonomics and interaction with technology; through teams, coordination and distributed decision-making; to organisational design, cultural change, system governance and operational effectiveness.

Our experience spans government, industry, research and complex technological environments where risk, uncertainty, interdependence and scale demand more than linear solutions. We have led and contributed to work from detailed design and evaluation through to organisation-wide analysis and strategic change.

IGOR has also worked extensively with academic institutions, industry specialists, and international collaborators. This partnership model allows us to bring together the right expertise for each engagement and translate knowledge into practical, operationally relevant outcomes.

Founded in Defence science and now operating internationally, IGOR continues to evolve its practice around a central proposition: human capability must be understood and designed as part of the wider system.

Human capability is operational capability.
